In fifteen years of owning hunting and handling squirrel dogs in pleasure and competition. I can honestly say that Hank is the best I have ever owned ever seen or ever walked behind.
Hank is out of one of the most dominant reproducing dogs alive "Hardwood Lake Jake" and Durhams Dewey. Hank's comes from a long line of Champion treedogs. Jake is out of Streaks Redman and C&S Hardwood Pearl. Dewey is out of Blue Creek Rusty Bee and Blue Creek Bobby. You can click the link below to see Hank's Pedigree and pictures of his parents and grandparents.
Hank started treeing his own squirrels at a very young age, Rodney Stratton once told me that thinking about Hank's natural abilities kept him up at night. Hank is truly a once in a lifetime type dog. When I bought Hank he was not for sale nor was he advertised for sale. But I had heard a rumor of a dog that would tree game as fast as you could get to him and stay at the tree all day long. When I seen Hank in the woods for the first time I saw for myself that the rumors were true. Hank is an "out front" type hunting dog, that will get treed in a hurry. He comes on the tree most times with one loud bawl and then turns that over into a steady chop. You will find him most times just as the picture shows, like a rock at the base of the tree. He is a busy treedog that has a good mouth that carry's well. Hank seems to understand competition and knows when there is another dog in the woods, I have only seen Hank tree with another dog 4 times, I have NEVER seen Hank pull to another dog. Hank is an independent dog that likes to get it done on his own and will never quit or slow down as long as he is turned loose.
I did not buy Hank with the anticipation of owning a Stud dog, however I did breed Hank to a few select females. After seeing the results we determined that Hank will carry on the same great reproducing abilities as his daddy. Throwing early starting independent stay put tree minded pups. With all this in mind and seeing the fruits of Hanks labor, in 2006 we are proud to offer Schneider's Hank at stud to quality females.
I would also like to state, there are several stud dogs out there but I believe there are none like Hank. He brings his own personality to the table, the qualities that Hank possesses he has proven to pass onto his pups. References are readily available but the best reference will always stand true, come see Hank or his pups for yourself.
Thank You,
David Schneider
